The Elite Volleyball Club
CLUB MISSION STATEMENT: The Elite Volleyball Club is dedicated to promoting the accelerated evolution of individual athletes, the development of the elite team concept and the continued growth of the sport of volleyball. CLUB GOALS: Develop interest in volleyball by teaching fundamental skills and team concepts to all players. Give all players the technical and physical training needed to excel at any level. Provide special focus for players intending to compete at the collegiate level.
We want every player to have the technical skills and physical capabilities to play at any level they desire! Club Founder Andrew Vazquez has been ranked as high as top fifty in the country as a professional player, finished as high as third in the Manhattan Open, been in the top 7 players in kill percentage in professional events and was the defensive leader on the AVP tour for the first 4 weeks at the inception of the "digs" statistic, with 115 digs. Andrew has not only played at the division I and professional level, he has also been coached by and with Olympic gold and bronze medal coaches in volleyball and world record holders in Olympic lifting.
WHEN HEALTH IS ABSENT, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot become manifest, strength cannot be exerted, wealth is useless and reason powerless. We here at The Elite Volleyball Club are big advocates of healthy living. Did you know that the artificial sweetener aspartame(nutrasweet) interferes with the development of the nervous system: can actually lead to hyper activity disorder and obesity: has been linked to abnormal development including obesity, short stature and sexual reproduction problems? |

"When you choose to be a competitor, you choose to be a survivor. When you choose to compete, you make the conscious decision to find out what your real limits are, not just what you think they are. Competition trains you to accept risks and to endure set-backs" Pat Summitt (University Of Tennessee Womens Basketball Head Coach, winningest womens coach of all time)
"Remember, its the perfection of the smallest details that make big things happen!" John Wooden
The difference between a successful person and others lies not in a lack of strength, not in a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of Will

The Elite Volleyball Club is growing!! We will be opening a new branch of Elite this season in Salem, Oregon under founder Brian Chapman. Brian has been running volleyball leagues and tournaments in the Salem and Portland area, as well as competing professionally for the past 10 years and we are fortunate to have such an experienced player and coach heading up our newest branch of Elite.
| So what can you expect to get from Elite? How about a full ride to a Division I University !! Congrats to Kim Capicotto, the first athlete to go start to finish with The Elite Volleyball Club. This is not a player that transferred into the club, trained on the outside with a bunch of personal coaches and trainers or who even got instruction from anywhere else. Kim did all of her training with Elite! Started in 8th grade and culminated her efforts by being on The Elite 17's team, the only 17's team in the SCVA any where north of the south bay to qualify for the Junior Olympics and signed with Fordham University, a division I University just voted one of the "25 hottest schools in America" by the editors of Kaplan/Newsweek's How to Get Into College Guide, and listed as one of the top national universities in the latest edition of U.S. News & Worlds Report's "America's Best Colleges" Rankings! | "confidence comes from being prepared" "when you expect to be successful, it follows that you'll plan ahead. You'll prepare yourself, you'll make certain that you follow all the steps that have helped you be successful in the past, or you've watched others who have found success. When opportunity presents itself, you'll be in a position to open the door" Thats your focus, thats your gameplan "I will get ready and then, perhaps, my chance will come" John Wooden |
Congratulations to all of our Elite teams for their fantastic play throughout the Volleyball Festival Championships. Thanks to all of our Chaperones for helping to keep all of our players well fed, rested, and ready to play! Our 14Elite team came in as the 50th seeded team and in their first day of play went undefeated and knocked of the #21 seeded team!! Our 15Elite team had 2 starters go down to knee injuries and still managed to improve their 46th seed to 38th by the end of the tournament, going undefeated on their third day of play! Our 17Elite team lost a starting setter to an ankle injury and almost lost their libero to an ankle issue as well. And after falling short on their second day of play bounced back to go undefeated their 3rd and 4th days of competition, knocking off a couple local club teams on their way to winning the contender division and finishing 33rd overall. Keep checking back for more video clips and pics! Parents, if you have any good ones, let us know!
And special props and congratulations to Jesse Bowden!! Joining Elite last year for her first season with the club Jesse has continued to excel as the premier setter in the club! We were very fortunate to have her and will definitely miss her presence. But Jesse's athletic ability, dedication, desire and determination will serve her well at the next level. Jesse Bowden will be playing with a full tuition scholarship and stipend at Montana Tech, which was ranked among the best colleges in the country in the Princeton Reviews. Congratulations Jesse!!!!!
